Wellbank St, Concord

Located on the edge of a suburban plot this particular site has been afforded the advantage of being situated next to local sporting and park amenities. Initially the site was occupied by a 1970’s weatherboard extrusion running from the street facing boundary to the rear of the site. After considerable deliberation it was decided that demolishment of the existing structure would be the most suitable solution moving forward.

The design intent for the project was to utilise the location of the site to address both the streetscape and landscaped amenities adjacent to the development. Finished in a traditional cement render at ground level and clad in horizontal weatherboard wrapping the entire second storey the final outcome both addresses the street and adjacent park without seeming overbearing or superfluous.
